Abstract: Inorderto revealthe distributionpatternand influencing factorsof soil organiccarbon in typical natural graslands in the Tianshan Mountains,the research method combining field data measurementand geographic information technologyisadoptedtoestimatethesoilorganiccarboncontentatdiferentdepthsinthestudyareaandanalyzethespatial distributioncharacteristics.Theresultsshowthataccordingtodifferent models,theaverageorganiccarbon densityof the seven soil layers in the study area is 4.21, 4.38,4.19,3.88,3.67,1.83,and 1.92g/m2 ,respectively. When the soil depth is 0~40 cm,the overallSoil Organic Carbon (SOC)content is relatively high,andthe high-value areas are mainlylocated in the southwest of the studyarea,inthe northeast and southeast,asthedepth increases,the SOC densityshowsa decreasing trend.When the depthis between 40~100 cm, the overall SOC content in the study area decreases,which is consistent with the SOC performance at depths of 0~40 cm,there is a high-value distribution in the southwest of the study area. The organiccarbon contentof natural grassandsoilintheresearcharea shows significant spatial diferences,andthe soil organiccarboncontentdecreaseswiththe increaseofsoildepth,according todifferent grasslandtypes,itisdivided nto alpine meadow > subalpine meadow > mountain meadow > temperate grassland > temperate desert grassland. The research esults providea scientificbasis forevaluating thecarbon sequestration potential of typical natural grassand soilsin the Tianshan Mountains.
