Abstract： In thecontext of the deepening implementation of the dual carbon goals，urban eco-environmental quality evaluation has become a crucial tool for coordinating urbanization with carbon neutrality targets.Basedon this，the significanceof strengthening urbaneco-environmentalqualityassessment under thedual carbon goals isanalyzed，and pathways foroptimizing this evaluation are proposed.The analysis indicates that enhancing urban eco-environmental quality assessment holds significant meaning in three key areas： supporting the top-level planning of the dual carbon strategy， quantifying environmental carrying thresholds，and guiding public low-carbon behavior.
