Abstract： Basedon the perspectiveof urban renewal，this paperanalyzes the spatialdiferentiationcharacteristicsof land resources inthe urban area ofLiupanshui city from 2OoO to 2O2O.Theresults showedthatthelanduse in the study area exhibitedsignificanttopographic gradient diferentiation，formingathree-level distributionpaternof high （shrubforest， unusedland），medium （forestand，dryland），ndlow（onstructionland，paddyfields）.Therearesignificantdierecsin terrainadaptabilityamong diffrent typesof landuse，among whichconstruction landexhibitsabidirectionaldevelopment characteristic，with forest restorationand dryland adjustmentbeing the most significant.Theresearch resultscan provide scientific basis for land intensive use and spatial optimization in the renewal of mountainous cities.
