Research Status of Iron Trapping Fe-PGMs Alloy Enrichment Pretreatment

ZHOU Jingou,WANGFang,LIU Guiqing,ZHANG Jinchi (Jiangsu BGRIMM Metal Recycling Science & Technology Co.,Ltd., Xuzhou221121, China) Abstract: Platinum Group Metals (PGMs)are keystrategic resources in China.Their recycling andutilization have attracted much attention.As the mainstream pyrometallurgical proces,the iron capture method produces Fe-PGMs alloy with a densestructureand strongchemical inertness,whichisdificult tocrushandtreat,andrestrictssubsequentenrichmentand purification.Wet processtechnology facesmanychallenges inprocessingsuch allys,suchashighacidconsumption,igh production costs,and severe environmental polution.Therefore,how to separate PGMs from Fe PGMs alloy has become the keyto solving the problem.This paper summarizes the curent status of thepre-treatment proces forFe-PGMs alloys before enrichment,and evaluates the advantages and disadvantages of each process.
