Impact and Suggestions of Establishing a River Flood Control System on Sustainable Utilization of Water Resources

Abstract: Againstthebackdropof global climatechange,extreme weather eventsare becoming increasingly frequent.The spatialandtemporaldistributionof waterresources inChina isuneven,andfrequentfloodsposeseriouschallenges tothe rationaldevelopmentandutilizationof waterresources.This paper focuses onthe impactof improving theriverfloodcontrol systemonthe sustainable utilization of water resources.Basedonthecurrent situation of water resources in China and the developmentoftheriverfloodcontrolsystem,itelaboratesonthepositiveefectsof improvingtheriverfloodcontrolsystem in protecting thequalityof waterresources,ensuring therational alocationof waterresources,andreducingthedamageof floods to water resources,analyzes the problems existing in thecurrnt riverflood control system in terms of engineering construction,monitoringandearly warning,and management mechanisms,and proposing targeted suggestions from these three dimensions,aiming to provide useful references for promoting the sustainableuse of water resources in related practices.
