Mechanical properties test of recycled aggregate green concretebased on different water-binderratios mixed withvarious fibers

Abstract:The synergistic efectof water-binder ratioand fiber hybrid technology on the mechanical properties of recycled aggregate green concrete was investigated. Class I recycledcoarse aggregate is used to completely replace natural coarse aggregate,and three water-binder ratio levels of O.32,O.38 and O.44are set.A variety of schemes, such assingle-doped basalt fiber(BF),carbon fiber(CF),steel fiber(SF)and hybrid fiber,were designed to prepare recycled concrete,and its compressive,splitting tensile and flexural strength were tested.The results show thatthewater-binderratioplaysaleadingroleinthestrengthof thematrix,buttherearediferentotimal water-binder ratios for diferent mechanicalproperties:whenthewater-binderratioisO.38,thecompressveandsplitting tensile strengthoftheconcrete isthebest;inordertoobtainthehighestflexuralstrength,alowwater-binderratioof0.32is required.Fiber cansignificantly improve the toughness and crack resistance ofconcrete,and the reinforcementand toughening effctof steelfiberaloneor mixedwithBF/CFis themostprominent.Thisstudyprovidesan important basis for engineering applications.
