Innovative research on the detection method of phenol naphthalene anthracene content in solvent-based polyurethane waterproof coating

Abstract:The headspace gas chromatography(HS-GC) method for the determination of phenol,naphthalene and anthracene insolvent-based polyurethane waterproofing coatings was optimized,and the gas chromatography(GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)were developed simultaneously.The three methods were discussed.The contents of phenol,naphthalene and anthracene were determined by HS-GC,GC and GC-MS, respectively.The linear relationship,sensitivity,accuracyand precision were compared and analyzed.The results showthat the three methods can meet the analysis requirements.Among them,the GC method has the best linearity, precisionand accuracy;the sensitivity of GC-MS method was the highest.The comprehensive evaluation showed thatthe GC method omited the heating step of HS-GC method,and the analysis time was significantlyshortened. The GC-MS methodand HS-GC method are more suitable forthe detection of samples with very low content of phenol,naphthalene and anthracene due to their higher sensitivity.
