Abstract： To a certain extent， local chronicles museums and libraries have the possibility and necessity of integration. Local chronicles museums perform the functions of collecting，exhibiting and researching local chronicles and local culture，while libraries serve as repositories of book resources and hubs for documentary information resources. The two types of institutions have certain synergy in the fields of cultural inheritance and public services.Against the backdrop of building a culturally powerful country， this paper analyzes the necessty and feasibility of the integrated development of local chronicles museums and libraries， sorts out the current barriers to resource integration and service coordination between them， and further constructs an integrated development model from four dimensions： resource sharing， service linkage， technical support， and mechanism guarantee. This model provides a practical path for promoting the activated utilization of local cultural resources and improving the public cultural service system.
