Abstract： Homegoing， a family epic by Ghanaian-American author Yaa Gyasi， traces the three-century destinies of two half-sisters Efa and Esi，against the Atlantic slave trade. Applying Tao Jiajun's postcolonial identity theory， this paper analyzes the identity dilemmas，coping strategies and reconstruction of Effia's lineage through three phases： slave trade，colonial rule， and global diaspora. The novel's portrayal of Ghanaian identity transformation is emblematic; its analysis not only reveals Ghana's the inherent national identity logic but also embodies what Zhu Zhenwu terms "Africanness"-decoloniality，diasporicity，and hybridity，making the novel a key case for contemporary African literature's dialogue with world civilizations.
