Abstract： Divergent translations of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） terminology have created bottlenecks in its global dissemination，with the varied rendering of“Qi”- a core concept，serving as a highly representation case. This study adopts AndréLefevere' smanipulation theory as its analytical framework and explores the rewriting mechanisms of Qi's English translations across three domains （cultural academia， professional clinical practice，and popular science） from three dimensions： ideology， poetics， and patronage. Findings reveal that translation choices are governed by each sphere's distinct needs：cultural authenticity，clinical precision，or public accessibility.The findings indicate that the divergence in Qi's translations is essentially the outcome of the interplay of socio-cultural forces across different domains. We conclude that standardizing "Qi must balance cultural fidelity with communicative effectiveness to advance Chinese medicine internationally.
