Abstract:To address the demand for preciserailway signal cable fault location,this study proposes anoptimized SSTDR-based railway signal method and technology with signal synchronization.Spread Spectrum Time Domain Reflectometry(SSTDR)isadoptedasthe fundamental method forrailway signal cable fault location.In light of fault types caused by cable traveling wave transmission andcable aging,a signal filtering scheme is added to the basic SSTDR method,and signal acquisition and synchronization approaches are introduced to improve the cro-correlation peak recognition rate offault signals.A physical verification platform is built,where test signals aregenerated via Direct Digital Synthesis(DDS)and Field-Programmable Gate Arry(FPGA)technologies,enabling accurate locationand identificationof open-circuit faultsatdiferent distances.Experimental resultsdemonstrate thatcompared with the basic SSTDR method,the SSTDR method based on signal synchronization exhibits significantly beter performance in terms of fault location measurement distance and noise interference ratio.
