The application of three-dimensional laser scanning technology in the old design of ship superstructures

Abstract: Inorderto improve thequalityof theold designofthe ship superstructure,basedon the pointcloud data of theship superstructure based on3D laser scanning,a crack feature extraction method of the ship superstructure based on the improved K nearest neighbor(KNN) algorithm is proposed.Firstly,the improved KNN algorithm is proposed bycombining binomial functionand Euclidean distance as thesimilarity measure of KNN algorithm. Then,the improved KNNalgorithm isused to extract the crack characteristics of the superstructure of the ship,and the simulation test is carried out.Theresults show that this methodcan efectivelyextractthearea,lengthand maximum width of the cracks inthe superstructureof the ship,and the absolute error and relative error are 12.35% and (20 3.51% respectively. Compared with the feature extraction algorithms such as approximate curvature and normal vector, it is closer to the actual measurement results.
