Research on the preparation and properties of non-tar binder forcolumnaractivatedcarbon

Abstract:Inindustry,thebinderismainlycoaltar,butcoal tarhasserious environmental problems.Therefore,it is of great significance to develop environmentally friendly binders.Coal-based columnar activated carbon was prepared byusing Jilangdecoal from Jilangde open-pit coal mine in Hami,Xinjiangas raw material,DF,MZ,SZ,XW, PTand other non-tar binders alone orin combination.The wear resistance and iodineadsorption value of activated carbon were tested.The results showed that in the single binder experiment,when the addition amount of SZ was (20 15% ,the carbonization temperature was 600‰ and the holding time was 30min ,the activation temperature was (204号 900qC ,the activation time was 120min ,the activation medium was water vapor,and the water-carbon ratio was 21 , the strength of the carbonized material was 91.3% ,the strength of the activated material was 93.2% ,and the iodine adsorption value was 936mg/g .The results of compound binder and process conditions showed that when SZ 15% ,XW5% and PIT15% were added,the optimum process conditions were as follows ∵ carbonization temperature 600‰ (204号 and holding time 30min ,activation temperature 900qC ,activation time 120min ,activation medium steam,water-carbon ratio 2:1 .Thestrength of the carbonized material was 97.3% ,the strength of the activated material was 96.7% ,and the iodine adsorption value was 1012mg/g .Theresearch results can provide some theoretical guidance for the study of non-tar binder used in columnar activated carbon.
