Abstract:The efluent qualityof someurban sewage treatment plants is unstable,andartificial wetlandsarean emerging method foradvancedsewage treatment.Artificial wetlandsareagreenandecologicalsewage treatmenttechnology with lowinvestmentandoperationcosts,stabletreatment efects,and significantecological benefits.Taking therecycledwater utilizationprojectofacertainsewagetreatment plantasanexample,thecombinationprocessof"subsurfaceflow wetland + (20 surfaceflowwetland"isadopted todeeply treattheeffuentofurbansewage treatmentplants,withadesignedtreatment capacity of 20000m3/d. The construction project includes 1.52hm2 of subsurface flow wetlands and 4.03hm2 of surface flow wetlands,achieving an annual utilization of 7300000m3 of recycled water and reducing Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) by 146 t,ammonia nitrogen (NH 3 -N) by 25.55 t,and Total Phosphorus (TP) by 1.46t. Practice has shown that this process hasagooddeeptreatment efecton wastewaterfromsewage treatment plants,providing valuableengineering experience for the deep treatment of wastewater from urban sewage treatment plants.
