Degradation Mechanisms of Nanomaterials in Water Treatment

Abstract:Nanomaterials have shown great potential in the fieldof water treatment due to theirunique physical and chemical propertiesand eficientcatalyticdegradation performance.Thedegradation mechanisms ofnano metal oxides, nano carbonmaterials,nanocompositematerials,etc.inwater treatmentwere mainlyanalyzed,includingphotocatalytic degradation,lectrochemicaldegradation,chemicaloxidationdegradation,etc.Researchhasshownthatnanomaterials eficientlydegradeorganicpolutants throughmultipleprocessessuchasgeneratingactivefreeradicals,electronhole pair separation,andsurfaceadsorption.Inpractical water treatmentapplications,nanomaterials ehibitadvantagessuchas high degradation eficiency,wide applicability,and no secondary pollution.
