Study on Oxygen Pressure Leaching Process of African Copper-Cobalt Sulfide Ore

Abstract:As important strategic metal resources,copperand cobalt are widelyused in industrial fieldssuchas new energy.Africancopper-cobalt sulfideresourcesare graduallybeingdeveloped,buttraditional smelting methodshave problems suchas low eficiencyandhigh ironleachingrate.Foracertain copper-cobalt sulfide concentrate in Africa, theinfluencing factorsanddegreeofmetal leaching behaviorareanalyzedbyusing parameters suchaspre-leachingacid amount,oxygenpartial pressure,leaching time,leaching temperature,andliquid-solidratioasexperimentalconditions,and theoptimization scheme of oxygen pressure leaching processis studied to improve the leaching rate ofcopper and cobalt and suppresstheleachingof iron.Aftersystematic investigation,under theoptimal processconditions,thepre-leaching acid amount is 150kg/t ore,the oxygen partial pressure is O.6 MPa,the leaching time is 4h,the leaching temperature is 180‰ ,and the liquid-solid ratio is 5:1. At this point,the leaching rates of copper and cobalt reach 98.23% and 98.50% , respectively,while the leaching rate of iron is only 3.42% .In the leaching residue,the content of copper and cobalt is extremelylow,andironis mainlyenrichedintheformofferricoxide,andtheacidityoftheleaching solutionis moderate, which facilitates the subsequent separationand recoveryof copperand cobalt.Research hasshown that oxygen pressure leaching technologycaneficientlyprocess copper-cobaltsulfideore,withadvantagessuchashigh metal extractionrate, significantironihibitionefect,and good processtability,providing technicalreferencefortheeficientdevelopmentof similar resources.
