Design and Application of Reinforced Gabion Retaining Wall in High Fill Roadbed Slopes -Taking a Road Slope Project in Guizhou Province as an Example

Abstract：Reinforced gabionretaining wallisalightweightsupport structureappliedtofillroadbeds，which has the advantagesofoccupyinglessland，eautifulappearance，convenientconstruction，andlowcost.Ithasbeenidelyused in engineering practice.The outer roadbed of the K090～K160 section of the outer ring road connecting branch line in a certain townshipin GuizhouProvinceisahighfllslope.Theoriginalplan was touseabalancedweightretaining wallfr support，butduring implementation，itwasfoundthatusingabalanced weightretainingwallfordefense posedchallenges suchas highconstructiondificultylarge foundationexcavationarea，longconstructionandmaintenance time，andhigh projectcost，which werenotconducive tothenormalmanagementof theownerandtheconstructionandoperationof the entireroad.Afterinvestigationandresearchontheslope，aplanwas proposed tousereinforced gabionretaining walls to supportthefillsubgradeinthissection.Basedonthegovernanceefectandfollow-upresults，theuseofreinforced gabion retainingwalsinthedesignofhighfillroadbedslopescanimprovethesafety，reliability，andeconomyofroadbedfll slopes，which has certain reference significance in similar projects.
