Experimental Study on Removal of Recalcitrant Organic Compounds in Wastewater Discharged from Recirculating Water in Reclaimed Water Source

Abstract: In order to actively promote thereuse of wastewaterresources,power plantsare graduallyadopting urban reclaimed waterasasupplementary water sourcefor the circulating water system.Afterreducing theamount of wastewater dischargedfromcirculating water,itisreused,however,itswaterqualityispor,withighhardnesslkalinityand recalcitrantorganiccompoundscontent,withoutpretreatment,itcan lead toscalingandseverefouling inthemembrane treatment system,seriouslyaffecting thesafeand stableoperationof thesystem.Atpresent,conventional biological treatment processes have poor removal eficiency for recalcitrant organic compounds inreclaimed water.The Fenton advancedoxidationmethod isused toefectivelyremoverecalcitrantorganiccompounds fromthewastewaterofrecycled water sources,withafocus onstudying theoptimal process conditions forthemain influencingfactors.Thetestresults show that the pH value of wastewater before reaction is about 4,the dosage of H2O2 is 2mL/L ,the dosage of FeSO4⋅7H2 is 0.90g/L ,the total reaction time is controlled at 1.5h ,and the reaction temperature is controlled at ,when the pH value of wastewater isadjustedto5after reaction,theconcentrationof Total Organic Carbon (TOC)inthe supernatant after treatment is 12.38mg/L ,and the removal rate isashigh as 67.08% ,which can meet the requirements of influent water qualityof membrane system.Aftercalculation,thecostofthepre-treatment processper tonof waterchemicals is approximately O.94 yuan/t, which has good economic and environmental benefits.
