Analysis of the Reasons for Iron Exceeding the Standard in Typical Groundwater Monitoring Points in Province

Abstract： There is a problem of iron content exceeding the Class IV water standard limit at a groundwater monitoring point in province.Byconducting investigationsonpollution sourcesand surounding groundwater environment，taking intoaccountfactorssuchsregionalgeologicalbackground，topogaphyndhdaulicconnectionsetweengroundaternd surfacewater，themainreasonsforironexceedingthestandardatthemonitoring pointareanalyzed.Theresults indicatethat theregionhasageologicalbackgroundofhighironmanganese，whichis thefundamentalfactorforironexcedingthestandard; theuniqueterrainandhydrogeologicalconditionsinthisregionmakeiteasyforthegroundwaterenvironmenttotransforminto areducingenvironment，therebyincreasingthesolubilityofiron;thelong-termhighlevelofgroundwaterlevelleads tothe migrationandenrichmentofironandmanganeseelementsingroundwater，furtherexacerbatingtheexcessiveironcontent.
