Study on the in Vitro Antioxidant Activity of the Characteristic Component β -Amyrin in Camellia oleifera Seed Oil

Abstract: Camellia seed oil, asa vegetableoil rich in monounsaturated fatty acids,has attacted much attention due to its abundant bioactive components. β -resin alcohol is one of the main characteristic components in Camelia oleifera seed oil. In thisstudy, β -aromatic resin alcohols were chemically synthesized and the in vitro antioxidant activities of β -aromatic resin alcohols at five different concentrations (0.1,0.2,0.4,0.8mgmL-1 and 1.2mg⋅mL-1 ) were determined by spectrophotometry. The results show that β -resin alcohol can effectively eliminate reactive oxygen free radicals and exhibit a dose-dependent relationship,which can provide certain scientific basis for the development, application and industrial empowerment of Camellia oleifera seed oil.
