AbstractInrecentyars,withtheacceleratingpaceofsocietyandincreasinglifestre,thenumberofinsomniapatients nChinahasshownasignificantupwardtrend,withatendencytowardyoungerage groupsandhardtobecompletelycuredInsomianot onlyleads todaytimedysfunctionandemotionaldisturbanesbutisalsocloselyasociated withvarious physical disorderssuchas cardiovasculardiseases,metabolicdysregulation,andweakenedimmunefunction.Moreover,itsignificantlyelevatestheriskof mental healthonditions ikenxietyanddepresion,exertingulti-layerednegativeimpactsonpatientsphysicalandpsyhlogicalwel-eing aswellassocialfunctioning.Asoneof themost widelyandlong-teruseddosagefms intraditional Chineemedicine(TCM）,herbal decoctions have becomean greatoptionfor insomniaduetotheiruniqueadvantages.Comparedtosythetic chemical drugs,rbaldecoctiosexhibitthrecoreharacteristics:flexibleprescriptionadjustmentsbasedoncinicalds;igh bio-availabilityandrapidabsorptionofactivecompoundsfastonsetof therapeuticefectsfortimelysymptomrelief.Moreimportantly,erbaldecoctionsderetotefundamentalCMprncipleof“treatmentbasedonsdromedierentiation”,allwigpre ciseidentificationofdientisomiaates(e.gartsplndiencyiverfireiationdart-ideiblae） andtheformulationofpersonalizedtreatmentstrategies,therebyachievingtailoredinterventionsforthesamedisease.Thisarticle systematicalyeviewsteolgyathogensis，armacoloicalmehanisms,ndcinicalecacyofherbaldcoctionsinrating insomnia,aiming to provide theoretical basis for clinical practiceand put forward new research directions.
