Application of Personalized Nursing Based on Orem's Self-care Deficit Theory in Elderly Cataract Patients and Its Impact Sleep Quality

AbstractObjective：ToexploretheapplicationofpersonalizednursingbasedonDorotheaOrem'sself-caredeficitnursng theo ry inelderlycataractpatientsanditsimpactonpatients’slepquality.Methods：Atotalof ninetyelderlycataractpatientsadmitted tothe Hospital from March 2O24 to March2025 were selectedasthe studysubjectsandrandomlydivided intoacontrol group and an bservationgroup，with 45cases ineach group.Thecontrol groupreceivedroutine nursing care，while theobservation groupreceivedpersonalizednursingcarebasedonDorotheaOrem'sself-caretheory.Theapplicationefectsof thetwogroups were compared.Results：TheSASandSDscoresofelderlycataractpatients intheobservation groupafter intervention werelowerthan those in the control group（ P<0.05） . The ADL scores of the observation group were higher than those in the control group after the intervention（ P<0.05， ）. The PSQI scores and total scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group（ P<0.05）. The satisfaction rate of the observation group was 91.1% ，which was higher than that of the control group of 75.6% （ P<0.05 ）. Conclusion： Personalized nursing based on Orem's self-care deficit nursing theory can effectively improvetesleepquality，elfcare，andpsychologicalstateoflderlycataractpatients，hancenursingsatisfaction，andisorthy of clinical promotion and application.
