Abstract:Inanefort tobolsterthewearresistanceofTA2aloy,asopisticateddual-stagesurfaceenhancement technique was used,integratingcompositeelectroplatingwithlaserremeltingtodepositaNi-P-BcompositecoatingatoptheTA2surface.The inovativeuseofanelectroplatedlayerasaprecursortolaserremelting standsinforthetraditional methodsofpowderfeedingor compaction,adeptlymitigating theisuesofpowderaggegationorejectionunderthelasersinfluence.Thisapproachnotonly economizesonmaterialcostsbutalso elevates thecoating'sintegrityandaligns witheco-friendlystandards.Theresultsof the microstructure analysis showthat excellnt metallurgical bonding isobtainedbetween thecoating and substrate,andcracksor pores are not found in the coating. The coating is mainly composed of TiNi/Ti -2 Ni intermetallic compounds and TiB/TiB 2 ceramic phases,whichcanefectivelyincreasethehardnessandwearresistanceof theTA2surface.Thesehardconstituentssubstantilly augment the alloys hardness and wearresistance.Thecompositecoating achievesaremarkable hardnesspeak of 920 HV, significantlysurpassingthatoftheunderlyingTA2substrate.Moreover,thecoatingexhibitsareducedcoeffcientoffriction compared to the substrate,a testament to its enhanced wear-resistant properties.
