Abstract:Toovercome thefailure inachieving simplified machiningby mechanical bladefiveaxis CNC machine toolsdue to their verycomplexpath planning,atolpath plamingalgorithm formechanicalbladefiveaxis CNC machining basedon projection discretepointsandenvelopesurfaces isproposed.Analgorithmfor generatingtheenvelopesurfaceof the initial key toolcontactisdesignedbasedonprojectingdiscretepoints,andthesweptsurfaceofthetol'sinitialkeytolcontact approximationcurve,namelytheenvelopesurfaceoftheinitialkeytoolcontactisgenerated.Toobtaintolpointdatatoolshape compensationisusedtogenerate tolpointdatabasedontheinitialtoolcontactenvelopesurface.Aninterpolationalgorithmfor equalarchheighterrorvariablesteptangentdiscretetolpointisdesigned,andtoolpoint trajectoryinterpolation for 5- axis CNC machiningofmechanicalbladesisimplementedtoachievetolpathplanning.Teexperimentaltestresultsshowthatthedesiged algorithmforimpelermachining tolpath planning isdrasticallysimplerandmoreregular,andthatthemachiningprocessis simpler and time-saving with application of the algorithm.
