Construction of A Comprehensive Training System for Civil Engineering Based on Vertical Integration of "Learning by Doing"

AbstractTo enhance students'understanding of civil structural systems,the article proposes a comprehensive training system for civil enginering based on the longitudinalconnection of specimens,components,and overall structures,called "learning bydoing".Firstly,design andconstruct experimental projects that folow thecognitive hierarchy of "specimen component overallstructure" andare vertically interconnected.Secondly, modifythe training program,revise thecurriculum and teaching outline,and establish a "learning bydoing" system. Practice has shown that the implementation of this system is conducive to enhancing students'understanding of the knowledge system, exercising their comprehensive practical abilities,and helping to achieve good teaching results.
