Research on Energy Storage Demand Argumentation for 64 TEU Pure Battery-powered Container Ships on Inland Waterways

Abstract: This paper takes the existing 64 TEU traditional energycontainer shiponthe Changhushenroute as target ship, and introduces its power system configuration and navigation conditions. Based on the actual ship surveydata,the paper analyzes the tideeffect,shallow watereffectandnarrowchanneleffect.According tothefuelconsumptionestimation method andadmiraltycoefcient method,itestimates theaverage power demand andenergyconsumptionunder typical upstreamanddownstreamloadingconditions.Onthisbasis,thepaperfurthercalculates theenergystoragecapacityforthe new 64 TEU pure battery-powered container ship,as well as the changes of weight and speed.
