Abstract:The study of adsorption retention of polymers on the surface of unconventional reservoir rocks is of great significance for guiding the optimization of fracturing fluid formulations and improving theeconomic benefits of unconventionaloilandgasreservoirs.Thispaperselectedthecommonlyused polyacrylamide(PAM) treatmentagentto study its adsorption behavioronsurfacesofshaleand sandstone.Itquantifiedtheefectsofpolymerconcentrationandadsorption time on PAM adsorption behavior on the rock surface.The results showed thatthe adsorptioncapacity ofPAMon shale was significantlyhigherthan thatonsandstone.The adsorptionofPAMonrock surfaces Was beter described bytheLangmuir adsorption isotherm model and the pseudo-second-order kinetic model.
