Detection Method Comparison for Bromates in Drinking Water

Abstract: This paper systematically compared the performance of hydroxide system and carbonate system in ion chromatography for bromate detection in drinking water under isocratic elution conditions.Key analytical indicators,including linearrange,detection limit,quantification limit,precisionandaccuracy,wereevaluated.Both methods met national standard requirements. The carbonate system demonstrated superior accuracy (recovery rate) and practical applicability for real samples,while the hydroxide system exhibited limited generalizability in primary laboratories due to the need for acetonitrile adition and lower equipment compatibility.These findings provide valuable references for selecting water quality detection methods in primary laboratories.
