AbstractStrengthening basic research is an urgent need toachieve high-level scientificand technological selfrelianceand self-improvement. Coleges and universities are an important part of the national strategic scientific and technological forces and the main forceincultivating talents forbasic research.The science colleges ofcollges and universitiesarethe mainorganizersand implementersof scientificresearch workin basic disciplines.The Schoolof Physics of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China has innovated the scientific research management strategies for basic disciplines from aspects such as thereformof the evaluation and incentive mechanism, thecombinationoffree explorationand goalorientation,andthein-depth integrationofscienceandengineering.These efforts haveachieved the improvementofthecolege's originalinnovationcapabilitiesand thebreakthroughofkeycore technology research capabilities.The scientific research management strategies and cases of the college have enlightening significance forthe scientific research management work of basic disciplines incolleges and universities.
