Application of Scenario Simulation Teaching Method Combined with Case-Based Teaching Method in the Practical Training of Resident Physicians in Thyroid Surgery

AbstractObjective:This study explores the application efects of Scenario Simulation Teaching Method (SSTM) and Case-BasedLearming(CBL) inthyroid surgery practice teaching.Methods:Thestudysubjects were 50residentphysicians whounderwent standardized trainingintheThyroidSurgeryDepartmentoftheFirstAfiliated HospitalofWannan MedicalScience from January 2023 to December 2024.The participants wererandomlydivided into anobservation group (using SSTM + CBL teaching method, n=25 )and a control group (using traditional lecture-based teaching method,i.e., LBL, n=25 ).The studyassessed the impactof diferent teaching methods by comparing the theoretical examinationand skilassesmentscoresofthe two groups.Results:Theresultsshowedthattheobservationgrouphadsignificantlybeter scores in both theoretical examination and skill assessment than the control group P<0.001 ).Additionally,the satisfaction with the teaching method was significantly higher in the observation group than inthecontrol group( ⋅P<0.05 .Conclusion: ThecombineduseofSSTMandCBLsignificantlyenhancesresidentphysicians'graspoftheoreticalknowledge,operational skills,and various clinical abilities,thereby increasing their clinical confidence.
