Abstract： In this paper， the detection method of 1，2-propanediol in liquid milk was optimized by gas chromatography. Anhydrous ethanol was used to extract 1，2-propanediol in liquid milk. After adding auxiliary reagents， vortex mixing was used， centrifuge was used， supernatant was taken through organic filter membrane machine， FID detector was detected by gas chromatograph， and quantitative by external standard method. The results showed that the recoveries of 1，2-propylene glycol in liquid milk were 90%～ 105% and the relative standard deviations were 0.6%～4.2% . The method can satisfy the determination of 1，2-propanediol in liquid milk， avoid the excessive viscosity of extract liquid which may lead to the damage of injection needle. It is simple to operate and can be used for laboratory analysis.
