The Role of Vehicle Management Systems in Enhancing Campus Traffic Safety for Universities

【Abstract】With the increasing socialization and openness of universities,the volume of motor vehicles on campuses has risen markedly,intensifying conflicts between pedestrians and vehiclesand making trafic safetya pressing issue within modernuniversity governance systems.Traditional management approaches that relyonmanual supervision and static signageare characterized bylow efficiency and limited coverage,rendering them inadequate for addressing the complexityand dynamismof campus traffc environments.Consequently,the transformationofcampus traficsafety management toward technological and inteligent systems has become imperative.In response,this study proposes and systematically explores a comprehensive vehicle management system centered on a speed monitoring subsystem, examining its applications and value in thecontextof university traffc safety governance.Theresearch firstanalyzes thedifferencesbetweenuniversitycampusesand publicroadsystems intermsof managementauthority,roadattributes, and traffic flowcharacteristics,identifying theresulting chalenges in safety management.It thenconstructsa system architecture integrating vehicle identification and access control,video surveillance,speed detection andcapture,parking guidance,and data analytics,emphasizing the mechanism through which multisystem data interconnection enhances managementefectivenessSubsequentlyfromthe perspectivesofdirectregulation,indirectoptimization,ndlongtermbenefits,the study systematicallydemonstrates the system's comprehensive effects incurbing speeding behavior, optimizing traficorganization,strengthening emergencyresponse,andfosteringacultureofsafety.inally,itdiscusses the practical challnges associated withthe system's constructionand operation,proposes corrsponding countermeasures, andenvisions its futuredevelopment inthecontextof Internetof Thingsand artificial intelligence integration.
