A Comparative Study on the Test Methods of Derating Curves for Automotive Connectors

【Abstract】 The derating curve test of automotive connectors mainly adopts the point drawing method and the mathematical modeling formula method.BasedontheLV214 standard,this paper expounds the principles andoperation procedures of two testing methods.Through comparative tests of the same samples,it analyzes the diferences between the two methods in terms of curve smoothnes,data requirements,testsafetyandresult accuracy.The test results show thatthedeviationof the rated current data obtained bythe two methods is extremelysmall.The mathematical modeling formula methodrequiresonly5sets ofdata todrawasmoothcurve,andthe testsafetyishigher.Thedataof the point drawing methodis the measured value,which ishighlyreliable.This researchcanprovideareference for theselectionof testing methods for automotive connectors.
