Analysis and Research on the Application of Grade Point Average in Bachelor's Degree Conferment Standards

AbstractWith theoficial promulgationand implementation ofthe Degree LawofthePeople's Republic ofChina,higher education institutions arefacingnewchallnges andopportunitiesinformulatingstandardsforawarding bachelor'sdegrees. The article systematicallysummarizes and analyzes the types ofGPAalgorithms used in 147 DoubleFirst Classuniversities and84 non Double First Classuniversities, whether GPA is used as a criterion for awarding bachelorsdegrees,and the set value ofGPA.Itexplores theapplicationofGPA indegree awardingandits degreecompliance withtherequirements of the DegreeLaw.Theresults indicate that GPA,asa key indicator ofacademic evaluation,has been widely used in university teaching management. However, itsset value indegree granting standards variesdue to differences inshoolcategoriesand gradingsystems. Compared withDouble FirstClassuniversities,non Double First Class universties consider GPAmore as a necessary condition for awarding bachelor's degrees.
