Abstract：This paper delves intotheroleand impact of waterdiversion projects inoptimizing the allocationofregional water resources，and conducts research on their sustainable development strategies.Byanalyzing the changes in supply and demand ofregional waterresources，ecologicalenvironmentresponse，andother aspects before andafterthe implementation of water diversion projects，the positive significance and potential challnges of water resource optimization allocation through water diversion projects are revealed.At the same time，based onthe concept of sustainable development， countermeasures for the sustainable development of water diversion projects are proposed from the dimensions of engineering planning，operationmanagement，andecological protection，aiming toprovidetheoreticalsupportandpractical guidance for the scientific construction and operation of water diversion projects.
