Abstract： Earthwork calculation isan important partofland leveling engineeing，andaccuratecalculationofearthwork volume is of great significance forcostcontrol.Basedontheecologicalrestoration projectof mountains，waters，forests， fields，lakes，and grasss in Tanjiashan Coal Mine Area，Xiangtan city，this paper takes the land leveling project as an exampleto analyze the application offieldconsolidation method in ecological restorationengineering byusing MapGIS software，and clarify the principles，main steps，and precautionsof earthwork calculation.Research has shownthat the principleofland consolidation method is simple，thecalculation isrelativelyconvenient，and itcanachieveabalance between excavation and filling of soil with high accuracy， which is worth promoting and applying.
