Proficiency Testing for Quantitative Detection of Staphylococcus aureus in Food

Abstract: To evaluate the laboratory's quantitative detection ability for Staphylococcus aureus in food, in accordance withmethod2ofNationalFoodSafety Standard-Microbiological ExaminationofFood-Staphylococcus aureus Test (GB 4789.10—2016),Baird-Parker (BP) medium, chromogenic medium and 3M test plates were used for detection. Colony identification wascarriedout incombination with Gram staining,plasma coagulase test and VITEK 2 system.The results showed that the test results of the three media were completely consistent, and the values of proficiency testing werealless than 2.The laboratory's testingcapability was evaluatedas satisfactory.Studies show that proficiency testing can effctively verify the testing level of laboratories.The results of this studycan provide technical support for improving the accuracy of quantitative detection of Staphylococcus aureus in food and ensuring food safety.
