Exploration on the Integration of Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture into Primary School English Teaching from the Perspective of Key Competencies

AbstractThe proposal of core competencies has prompted primary school English teaching to gradually shift towards comprehensive abilitycultivation,integrating excellent traditional Chinese culture into the classroom,which is animportantpath to achieve culturalconfidenceand language proficiency.Thearticlefocuses onthe currentsituation of cultural integration in primaryschoolEnglish classrooms,andsummarizes theproblems ofscattered textbook content,shalow contextual design,single expression links,and lagging evaluation mechanisms.These factors weaken the synergistic effect oflanguage useand cultural cultivation inactual teaching. On this basis,the article combines the characteristics of textbook discourse and proposes strategies such as using traditional festivals as a starting point to constructa thematic chain,enriching contextual experiences with multimodalresources,designing expressionactivities around culturalconnotations,and setting stage feedback to activate value cognition,in order to explore feasible paths for the integration of language learning and excellent traditional Chinese culture.
