AbstractInformation Retrieval and Reading is a specialized course designed for undergraduate students majoring in chemicalengineering,ming toenhance theirabilities toacquire,evaluate,andapplyacademicinformation.Centered aroundthecoreobjectiveof"cultivatingscientificresearchcapabilities,"thispaper explores thecourse'sreformpractices in terms of teaching philosophy,content design,instructional methods,andevaluation systems.Byestablishing afourlevel competency development framework,implementing a researchtask-driven teaching model,and adoptinga dynamic evaluation mechanism,thecourse has effectively improved students’comprehensive research skils,including topic refinement, literature retrieval, research topic selection, information integration, and academic writing.
