Abstract: As thebackbone of China’s power supply,coal-fired power plants emit alarge amountof polutants,causing a seriesof environmentaland health problems.Basedontheemision factor methodandnational coal-firedunitinformation, a list of CO 2 ,SO 2 ,nitrogen oxides (NOx), inhalable particulate matter ( PM10 ),fineparticulatematter ( PM2.5 ),BlackCarbon (BC),Organic Carbon (OC),and Non-Methane Volatile Organic Compounds (NMVOCs)emissions from coal-fired power plants in Chinafrom198O to 2O22 was compiled,andthe evolutioncharacteristicsof theiremissionsandinstalledcapacity wereanalyzed.Theemisionsof various species firstincreasedand thendecreased,from2005to2O11,theemissions of various pollutants reached historical peaks one after another. In 2O22,the emissions of SO 2 ,NO x ,and PM2.5 were reduced by 94.7%, 72.3% ,and 87.9% respectively from their peak levels,but the emissions of CO 2 and NMVOCs still remained high.Thestructureoftheunit continued tobeoptimized,in2O22,the proportionof largecapacityunits with a capacity of over 30O MW reached 46.3% ,emissioning over 74.5% of the pollutant.In order to achieve the“dual carbon” goal,there isanurgentneed toaccelerate theapplication ofdecarbonization technologyand strengthenthe controlof NMVOCs emissions.
