Survey on the Health Literacy Status of Higher Vocational Nursing Students and Improvement Strategies under the Background of "Healthy China"

AbstractThisstudyaimstoexplore theactual healthliteracystatusofnursing students inahigher vocationalcollege inGuangdong Province，soastoprovideareferenceforcaryingout health educationfornursingstudents.Aconvenience sampling method was adoptedto conduct asurveyon the health literacyof higher vocational nursing students.The resultsshowed thatthe health literacy possession rate of nursing students inthis college was good，reaching 41.87% # Their health literacy levels in three aspects—basic health knowledgeandconcepts，healthy lifestylesand behaviors， and health skills-were also in a good state，with the possession rates being 48.59% 48.37% ，and 25.38% respectively. It wasalso found thatthere were statisticallysignificant differences inthehealthliteracypossessionrate among nursing students in terms of diferent demographic variables such as gender， grade，and parents' educational level （P<0.05） ： Ingeneral，thehealthliteracylevelofnursingstudentsinthishighervocationalcollgeisrelativelyhigh，buttheir healthskilliteracyislow.Therefore，highervocationalcolegesshouldfocusonstrengtheningthecultivationofhealth skills of higher vocational nursing students to improve their overall health literacy level.
