Research on Chain Breakage Monitoring Method for Scraper Conveyor Based on Fast Fourier Transform

Abstract:A chain breakage monitoring method based on fast Fourier transform is proposed for the scraper conveyor, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the scraperconveyorand reducing the probabilityof acidents.Using the empirical mode decomposition algorithm,thechain signal ofthe scraper conveyor is separated from the noise.Basedon thefastFourier transform,thetime-domain characteristicsof vibration signalsare transformedintofrequency-domain characteristics,overlapping vibrationsignals areseparated,and the vibration amplitudeof the signal is determined through spectrum reconstruction.The relationship between the amplitude of thevibration signal and the threshold is determined to completethe monitoring of sraper conveyor chain breakage.The experimental results show that the proposed methodcan accurately monitor the working status of scraper chains under diferent loads,which helps to timely detect and handle faults,avoiding production interruptions and safety acidents caused by sudden fractures.
