Abstract:For the accurate evaluation of the corrosion influence on the structural performance of transmission tower,a three一dimensionalfinite element modelofatoweris establishedtoanalyze thefailure modeand ultimate bearingcapacity ofthe tower under diferent corrosion conditions.Monte Carlo method based on description sampling is used to analyze thereliabilityfrom two directions of rust development and time-varying resistance respectivelyand study the failure probabilityand reliability developmentlawof the tower.Theresults show thatwhen therust degreeof the main material of the tower reaches 3mm ,the ultimate bearing capacity and failure probability of the tower can not meet the requirementsofthecode,andthereliabilityanalysis results basedonthetime-varying functionofresistanceshowthat the safe operation life of the tower is aound 36 years.
