Abstract:In the research and development of new materials for aviation gears,the bending fatigue tests on gears using new material isoneof the key factors inimproving the strengthof the aviation transmission system.Based on the review of the curent research status of gear bending fatigue test methods and failure mechanisms,this study summarizes the typical gear bending fatigue test methods and thefracture appearances and common failurecharacteristics,and the actual gear bending fatigue test and damage research methods are given.The reasonable test methods are selected according to different test conditions freeing the gear design from limits given by aviation materials,which provides theoretical and technical reference for bending fatigue tests of new gear materials.
