Research on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of R60702 Zirconium Alloy and Ti6Al4V Alloy Resistance Spot Welding Joints

Abstract:Inorder to achieve the lightweight of nuclear energy equipment,resistance spot welding of zirconium ally and titaniumaloy was studied,and the welding formation,the microstructureof the nugget andthe mechanical propertyof the joint were analyzed.Theresults indicated that the welding joint appearedasan asymmetric nugget due to the diferencesinthephysical properties of thebase metal,andthe sizeof the nugget zone had positiverelationwith the welding current increasing,the nugget zone diameter reached to 6.6mm when the welding current was 12kA C Zr ,Ti) solid solution was observed in the nugget,andthe crisscrossing micro一martensite was formed in Ti6Al4V side.The tensileresult showed that the peak tensile一shear load first increasedand then decreased with the currnt increasing,the peak tensile-shear load reached the maximum value of 7.75kN when the welding current reached And the fracturecharacteristicschangedfrombritlefracturetoplasticfracture,thefracturefailure modechangedfrominterfacial fracture mode to pull-out fracture mode with the increase of current.
