Influence of the "Shadowing" Experience Activity on the Empathy Ability and Job Competency of Surgical Nursing Interns

AbstractThe article mainly explores the impactof "shadow" experience activities on theempathyability and job competenceofsurgicalnursing interns （referredtoas "nursing students"）.Atotalof55 nursingstudents who intemed in thesurgerydepartmentofWuxiNinthHospitalfromJuly2O23toDecember2024 wereselectedastheresearch groupand received"shadow" experience activity teaching; Using 41 nursing students who receivedregular teaching from January 2022 to June2O23as thecontrol group，theassessment scores，empathyability，andjobcompetence of the two groups werecompared.Theresultsshowed thatthetheoreticalandskillassessmentscoresofteresearchgroupwerehigher than those ofthe control group （P<0.05） ; The scores ofempathy ability dimensions in the research group were higher than those in the control group （P<0.05） ; The scores of various dimensions of job competence in the research group were higher than those in the control group （P<0.05） ，proving that the "shadow" experience activity can effectively improve the empathy abilityand job competence of surgical nursing students，andis worth promoting inclinical nursing teaching.
