【Abstract】This article conducts a studyon theoil burning fault of the EA888 engine equipped in the Volkswagen Magotan B8 model.Firstly，analyzethe influenceoffaultson the vehicle's power performance，fuel consumption and mechanical components，and construct a system diagnosis process including fault phenomenon confirmation，preliminary inspectionand in-depth diagnosis;Secondly，forkeycomponentssuchaspistonringsand pistons，valveoil seals，andoilgas separators，improved replacement schemes are proposed，such as the application of wave-shaped oil rings，doublelip valveoil seals，and high-eficiencyoil-gasseparators.Aftertherepair，theengineperformance isrestored through processes such as oilflling inspection，idleoperation monitoring and road test performanceevaluation.The research providesa complete technical path from diagnosis to maintenance for solving the problem of oil burningin the EA888 engine，which has practical reference value for improving vehicle reliability.
