【Abstract】This paper conducts a numerical simulation study on the hot extrusion pre-forging forming process of automotive rectangular splines withthe aidof DEFORM-3D software,with a focus onanalyzing the distribution laws of the stress field,strain field and temperature field.By optimizing the process parameters (temperature 1200% ,downward pressure speed 5mm/s,friction coefficient O.3),the simulation results show that the peak stressconcentration in the predicted tooh root/tooth toparea has decreased from 335MPa before optimization to 298MPa.The peak high strain in the transition zone reached 3.41mm/mm .Although no crack initiationphenomenon was observed during the simulation proces,the potential cracking risk was judged through theanalysis ofstress-straindistribution.Compared withbefore optimization, the overall forming quality of splines has been significantly improved.
