Abstract:PrinciplesofMetallurgyisanimportant theoreticalcourseindisciplinessuchasmetalurgyandmaterialsscience. ThispaperreportsontheconstructionoftheelectivecoursePrinciplesofMetallrgyanditsblendedteachingapproach froma generaleducationperspective.Thecourseisguidedbythesmeltingprocesesofmodernmetallcmaterials,bridgingspecialized andgeneraleducationthrough fundamentalconcepts,andhasrapidlyestablishedanelectivecoursesystemforextractive metalurgy.Thecoursehasbuiltandpublishedonetextbookof blendedmedia,andthe MOOCcourseisnowavailableonline. BasedothetextbookandMOOCvideoresources,thecourseitroducesmetallrgicalprocessvideosintelasroom,highlights theapplicationofvisualteachingmethods,andcarriesoutblendedteaching.Giventhediverseprofesionalbackgroundsofthe students,thecourseassessmentprimarilyfocusesonthetranslationofEnglishtextboksormonographsintoChinese, supplementedbythematicassgnments,therebyincreasingtheweightofabityassessment.Thecourseideologypromotesthe splendidachievementsofmetalsmeltinginChinathroughouthistoryinspiringstudentsmotivationfortechnologicalinovation. Thecourseplanscontinue toengageinuseful explorationandresearchinblendedteaching,mobileteaching,anddigitalcourses.
