[Abstract] High intensity intervaltraining plays an important role in physical training for middleand long distance runing due to itsunique training mode.Thisarticle analyzes itspositive role in improving athletes'aerobicand anaerobic endurance,speed endurance,and optimizing energy metabolism; It identifes ssues suchas unscientific training arangements,improperload control,andlack of personalization; And it proposes targeted optimization strategies such as developing personalized plans,accurately controlling the training proces,and strengthening post training recovery adjustments.ResearchhasshownthatalthoughHIIThassignificantadvantages,its efectivenesscanonlybefullyrealized through scientific planningand implementation,helping middle and long distance runners break through competitive bottlenecksand double improving their physical fitnessand performance.This isof great significance for promoting the scientific development of middle and long distance running training.
